CHICAGO (WLS) -- For most, the long Labor Day holiday weekend is a sign that summer will soon be over.

But not everyone is ready for it to be.

Chef Michael Airhart was one of the attractions at this year's Teens in the Park event.

"I think it looks really cool. I didn't know what to expect because we've never been but it looks really fun," said parent Shante Samuel.

The Chicago Park District event along the lakefront offers families and the community summer fun and young performers a chance to showcase their talents.

"Teens in the Park, we want them here. We want your kids here. We want you here," said Temeszja Drummond with the Chicago Park District.
