PHILADELPHIA – Atlanta relief pitcher Hunter Stratton was tagged with the loss on Saturday night against Philadelphia as the Phillies posted a 3-2, 10-inning win over the Braves.
Taking over in the bottom of the 10th and the Braves holding a 2-1 lead, Stratton plunked Nick Castellanos with a pitch, struck out Harrison Bader and then allowed a single to Bryson Stott that loaded the bases.
The Sullivan East High School graduate was then relieved by Dylan Dodd, who struck out Brandon Marsh before allowing Trea Turner’s two-out, two-run single to lift the Phillies to a win, spoiling the return of reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale to Atlanta’s starting rotation.
Nacho Alvarez Jr. put Atlanta ahead 2-1 with an RBI single in the 10th.
