Perth is on track to experience its wettest August on record, with more rain and possible hail expected to lash the city on Monday.
The city will also shiver through one of its coldest August days, with a maximum of 14C expected.
The previous record is 12.1C at the weather station based in Mt Lawley in 2020, with the all-time record at the old Perth regional office 9.9C in August 1951.
Rainfall in Perth is already above average for the month, with 150mm falling to date. The average is 122.7mm.
About 60mm of rain was expected to fall over Sunday and Monday, with a chance of hail on Monday.
“With a lot more rain forecast over the next few days, we could be approaching 200mm for the month,” Weather Bureau senior forecaster Luke Huntington said.
