Locals told to avoid area and keep windows closed as fire breaks out in Cambs town

A building fire has broken out in a town in Cambridgeshire . The Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service are currently attending to a fire on The Avenue in Godmanchester.

Firefighters at the scene are working to stop the fire from spreading through the surrounding area. Locals have been told to avoid the area.

There is smoke moving towards Huntingdon town centre. Locals have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed to prevent the smoke getting in.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service said: "Crews are currently responding to a building fire on The Avenue, Godmanchester.
