Virginia Powerball players hit big as jackpot climbs toward $950 million

Richmond, VA — Powerball fever is heating up in Virginia after more than 58,000 winning tickets were sold across the state in Wednesday night’s drawing, including a $2 million winner in Spotsylvania and a $1 million winner in Carrollton.

While no one matched all six numbers nationwide to claim the jackpot, Virginia Lottery officials confirmed several major prize winners ahead of Saturday’s estimated $950 million drawing.

The $2 million winning ticket was purchased at Weis Markets located at 9801 Courthouse Road in Spotsylvania. The $1 million ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on 13511 Carrollton Boulevard in Carrollton.
