Ohio’s race to the right isn’t all about Republicans knowing where voters were headed and getting there first. Ohio’s been a center-right state for at least 75 years.

But the politics of resentment has emboldened a new breed of Republican officeholders, men and women who have fooled working class voters throughout Ohio into supporting policies that are eerily similar to places like Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas.
