The president of the NLTA calls the Education Accord a “step in the right direction,” but the proper resources need to be in place to make it work.
The report, which was released on Friday, includes 110 recommendations to government for the short, medium, and long-term vision of education.
President Dale Lambe says staff at the NLTA will be going over the report in the coming weeks to get a better idea of what the recommendations will entail, but there are certain things that need to be in place to make it viable.
He thinks it is great that the report talks about things like an ecosystem approach, but ultimately more of a burden cannot be placed on teachers and teaching and learning assistants.
