While some of Florida is seeing soaking rains this Labor Day weekend, tropical systems and their potential development are far from any land and it's expected to stay that way even as we move close to the traditional peak of hurricane season.

National Hurricane Center forecasters continued watching a tropical wave off Africa on Aug. 31 that has a low chance of development.
