Harry Potter director Chris Columbus has dismissed any possibility of reuniting the original cast for a Cursed Child film adaptation. ‌

The filmmaker - who directed the opening two films in the magical franchise - maintains that J. K. Rowling's contentious anti-transgender comments have rendered it "impossible" for stars like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) to make a comeback to the beloved series. ‌
