Two men have been stabbed at a central London Tube station within 24 hours in attacks that may be connected.

The first serious assault happened at Oxford Circus at 3.40am yesterday and the second at 1.30am today.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and a 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning.

And yesterday a 23-year old man was treated for injuries consistent with being stabbed and attended hospital for further treatment.

British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses and have released an image of a man they want to talk to.

No arrests have yet been made, but the force said the two stabbings could be linked.
