The Suffolk County Police Department, assisted by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, arrested six motorists during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue. Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Highway Patrol Bureau Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team conducted a joint sobriety checkpoint operation with Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs and New York State Troopers at Waverly Plaza, located at 371 North Service Road, at 11 p.m. last night until 2:30 a.m. this morning. Volunteers and staff from MADD and STOP DWI also assisted, giving educational information to motorists.
