HURON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Saturday is South Dakota Farmers Union Day at the South Dakota State Fair and to celebrate, family farmers and ranchers put together their annual meal with a purpose.
It was a busy day at the South Dakota State Fair. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the state fair, there were many reminders of quiet life on the farm. For around twenty years, one of the main sponsors of the fair, the South Dakota Farmers Union, has been using Farmers Union Day to hand out backpacks, fair passes and stickers and educate the public about bringing food from the farm to the table.
