LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's the city’s largest cultural festival, and it's happening right now through Labor Day.
Louisville's 23rd annual WorldFest kicked off Friday.
“We have the most wonderful people that come to this to have a taste of culture,” said Jeanette Westbrook, owner of Going Nutts.
Westbrook is celebrating her 20th year as a WorldFest vendor, offering roasted almonds and pecans. She said WorldFest is like no other event in the city, and her personal connection to Louisville’s immigrant population gives it a special place in her heart.
“I am a retired social worker, and I helped relocate those refugees and immigrants to Louisville, Kentucky," she said. "As far as I’m concerned, as a Louisville native, born and raised here, I welcome all of them."
