Oscar Piastri has taken a major step towards winning the Formula 1 title with victory in Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix , a race which also saw Lando Norris retire during the closing stages.

The Australian led from start to finish at Circuit Zandvoort to extend his led at the top of the Championship, but he was handed a helping hand by his teammate's issues.

Norris' McLaren suffered engine failure and led to his immediate withdrawal, Max Verstappen not able to take advantage from the resulting safety car to finish second behind Piastri.

In what was a dramatic race, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc both crashed out of the race, the former of his own doing as his frustrating season continued.
