Michael Paul Brown, 45, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Anaconda-Deer Lodge County District Court on four charges of deliberate homicide.

Additional charges are anticipated, said Morgan Smith, county attorney for Anaconda-Deer Lodge County.

Authorities allege Brown shot and killed four people at the Owl Bar in Anaconda on Aug. 1. Three male victims were customers. The one female victim worked as a bartender.

Brown, who lived next door, was said to be acquainted with all four victims but no immediate motive was identified. People who knew Brown said he suffered from mental illness and may have struggled with PTSD from his time in the U.S. Army.
