NEW ORLEANS —

A community block party with a purpose is taking place on Sunday afternoon. It's called Deeply Rooted and honors the two decades of resilience and progress since Hurricane Katrina.

The celebration will feature live music, local food, family activities and the unveiling of a new mural. The event takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. under the bridge on North Claiborne and Orleans. Advertisement
