MTV has announced that Lady Gaga will perform at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards . She joins a lineup that currently includes Busta Rhymes, J Balvin , Ricky Martin, and Sabrina Carpenter , among others. Mariah Carey will receive the Video Vanguard Award . The 2025 VMAs take place on Sunday, September 7, at UBS Arena, in Elmont, New York.

Lady Gaga previously performed at the VMAs in 2009—where she delivered a star-making rendition of “Paparazzi”—and again in 2020 alongside Ariana Grande . She’s eligible for 12 awards this year, the most of any nominee, including Best Artist as well as Video and Song of the Year for her Bruno Mars duet “ Die With a Smile .”
