House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) struggled to explain why he voted against a bipartisan bill promoting mental health services in an effort to stop gun violence — even as he argued that the Minneapolis Catholic school shooter was mentally ill.
Emmer was questioned by ABC’s Martha Raddatz on ABC’s .
“You talk about what can be done,” Raddatz began. “After mass shootings in Buffalo and in Uvalde, Texas. Congress passed the bipartisan Safer Communities Act . It provided hundreds of millions of dollars for schools to expand mental health services, enhance safety measures. You did not vo
