TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says a woman is dead and another in critical condition after an incident on a hiking trail Saturday, August 30.

The PCSD says crews responded to the Linda Vista hiking trail after reports of two hikers injured.

The PCSD Parks Enforcement/Search and Rescue Team, worked with multiple state and fire department agencies and found the women a short distance apart.

One female was rescued from the trail and transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The second female, identified as 53-year-old Lyn Lagergren, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The PCSD says no suspicious circumstances were noted, and the investigation remains ongoing.
