ST. LOUIS — Authorities on Sunday charged a man in connection to a double shooting in the Mark Twain neighborhood that killed one man and left another in critical condition.

Johnny Dukes, 38, of St. Louis was charged with first-degree murder, three counts of unlawfully using a weapon, four counts of armed criminal action and first-degree assault.

St. Louis Police officers responded to the shooting in the 5300 block of North Euclid, just north of Interstate 70, at about 11:40 p.m. Friday night.

Officers found two men with gunshot wounds in a parked Nissan, police wrote in charging documents.

A 42-year-old in the drivers' seat was dead. The man in the passenger seat, 34, was taken to the hospital in critical and unstable condition, police said.
