Today’s Lineups

The D-backs go into the final game of August having already clinched what is easily their best month of the season. Those are certainly not words I expected to writing at the trade deadline, as the team moved Eugenio Suarez, Josh Naylor, Merrill Kelly and Shelby Miller. Yet, here we are: a win today would run the D-backs’ record in August to 18-11. Not only is that the most wins in a month this year, Arizona didn’t have more in 2024, when they fell a game short of the post-season, or 2023, when they went to the World Series (the best month there was a 17-win May). You have to go all the way back to a 19-9 June in 2018 to find a winninger month by the Diamondbacks.

Winning today would also give the D-backs a sweep in Dodger Stadium, and that has been a while as well. Indee
