A heat advisory will be in effect on Labor Day in many areas of Southern California, where temperatures are forecast to soar well above 100 degrees.

The advisory will blanket much of the region, including parts of the Los Angeles area and all of the Inland Empire and Orange County, the National Weather Service said Sunday.

The Riverside metropolitan area is expected to reach 100 degrees on Sunday and 102 on Labor Day, according to the NWS.

Coachella Valley temperatures will be the highest in the county, with Coachella reaching 111 on Sunday and Labor Day. Palm Springs was predicted to be just a couple degrees cooler, reaching a high of 110 Sunday and 109 Monday, according to the NWS.
