A 14-year-old girl in Brunswick was fatally shot on Saturday night.

According to the Brunswick Police Department, the shooting happened around 8 p.m. at a home on Altama Avenue.

Daquarius Wallace, 17, who police said was “mishandling” the gun when the teen was shot, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a person under 18 and reckless conduct.

The investigation also led to the arrest of 21-year-old Bobby Sullivan, who was charged with second-degree cruelty to children, theft by stolen property, reckless conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Both men were released into the custody of the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office.
