Police charged a 51-year old Bayville woman with driving while intoxicated after a Route 9 crash in Berkeley Township that injured three people on Saturday night.

At 10:45 pm Berkeley Township Police responded to Route 9 and Station Road for reports of a two-car crash, according to a statement from the department.

The crash happened after a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, operated by a Bayville woman, attempted to turn left from Route 9 north to Station Road and collided with a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, police said.

Three people in the Chevrolet were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River by Berkeley Township EMS with minor injuries, authorities said.

The Bayville woman was later charged with driving while intoxicated after a blood test at Community Medical Center, police said.
