A fire Sunday destroyed a barn of a well-known therapeutic riding center near Thurmont, but did not result in any injuries to people or animals, according to a fire official.
The fire at Silverado Stables, the location of the Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program, destroyed two buildings, including a barn of about 200 feet by 60 feet, said Steven Schultz, a battalion chief with the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services, who served as the incident commander.
