Winnipeg police arrested a man and woman late Friday after seizing an air pistol and drugs during a proactive patrol in the North End.
Shortly before midnight on Aug. 30, North District General Patrol officers approached a pair who were standing next to a vehicle in a commercial parking lot in the 200 block of McGregor Street. Businesses in the area were closed at the time.
Officers noticed a firearm in plain view inside the vehicle. Both individuals were taken into custody, and the vehicle was searched. Police seized a Beretta-style air pistol, about 20 grams of cocaine valued at $2,000, 22 grams of methamphetamine worth $1,100, 73 gabapentin pills valued at $220, a cell phone, a scale, and $625 in cash.
