Luis Suárez did not take his team's Leagues Cup final loss very well. At all.
The Inter Miami star was apoplectic after the final whistle of a 3-0 defeat at the Seattle Sounders, attacking opposing players and in one instance, appearing to spit on a Sounders staff member.
The Uruguayan will almost certainly be facing a lengthy suspension after an ugly end to a bad night for the Herons at Lumen Field.
Osaze De Rosario gave Seattle the lead with a 26th-minute header, and a late penalty from Alex Roldan plus an even later goal from Paul Rothrock sealed a comprehensive win for the home side.
At the final whistle, though, the evening was marred by an ugly brawl between several Miami and Seattle players.
Per Apple TV commentator Taylor Twellman, Suárez immediately went after Sounders midfielder Obed Vargas as soon as the whistle sounded.
Suárez was far from the only player involved. Inter Miami defender Maxi Falcón appeared to have a Sounders player in a headlock, while Miami defender Tomás Avilés threw punches at Sounders defender Jackson Ragen.
A video posted by Pulso Sports on YouTube also shows Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets punching Vargas in the face.
The biggest talking point, however, came when Suárez appeared to spit on a Sounders staff member.
At his post-game press conference, Miami coach Javier Mascherano attempted to shift the blame toward the Sounders for starting the brawl.
“Obviously you never like this type of thing, but if there was a reaction possibly there was also instigation,” Mascherano said.
Seattle coach Brian Schmetzer lamented the incident taking the focus off a stellar display by his side.
"Unfortunately that is going to take some of the attention away from a great performance by the Seattle Sounders," Schmetzer said in his post-game press conference.
"Their players were frustrated and that led to some things happening on the field that shouldn't happen on the field."
Suárez, of course, has a past littered with questionable behavior, including no less than three biting incidents.
The FA also found the striker guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra during a Premier League game in 2011. He was banned for eight matches.
