Surrounded by loving friends, Lisa Lynn Burdick-Walen joined her husband, James Robert Walen, on Aug. 16, 2025.

Annual family vacations took Lisa from California to Utah as a child, where she fell in love with the red rock canyons. She was thrilled to share her passion for Zion and Bryce with James – a lifelong “surf rat” who, at first, scoffed at putting on shoes to hike. Together, they made Zion their happy place, spending countless vacations there before retiring in 2018 to live out their days surrounded by serenity.

Lisa enjoyed collecting rare antiques and art, unique clothes and statement jewelry, and compassionate friends. A woman of faith, she was a devoted Christian who found joy in Bible studies and prayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents
