Happy Labor Day Monday! Today’s forecast will be warm and muggy with highs in the lower to mid 80s and sunshine mixed with partly cloudy skies.
Scattered showers and storms are possible this afternoon and evening. Models seem to be pushing the majority of pop-up storms west of Chattanooga, but stay on alert for pop-up storms across the viewing area if you have outdoor Labor Day plans today.
Tomorrow will see a similar chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms and highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. A Marginal (level 1/5) risk for excessive rainfall/ flash flooding has been issued for a few of our counties. While I don't expect widespread washout conditions, a few of these pop-up storms could produce heavy rainfall rates that could increase the risk for potential flooding.
