One person was killed and three others were injured when two small planes collided midair while attempting to land at a Colorado airport on Sunday.
The two planes – a Cessna 172 and an Extra Flugzeugbau EA300 – collided when coming in to land at Fort Morgan Municipal Airport in Colorado at around 10:40 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). There were two passengers on board each aircraft.
The planes landed in fields just outside the airport, where they erupted in flames, according to Fox News .
One person on board the Extra Flugzeugbau plane was killed, while the second individual was hospitalized, Fox News said. Two people on board the Cessna plane suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
