The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including multiple notices for Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

Are you looking to see if recalls were issued on your vehicle? Owners can check USA TODAY's automotive recall database or search NHTSA's database for new recalls. The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number, or VIN.

Here's what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Aug. 25 to Aug. 31:

Fords, Lincolns recalled for brake fluid issue

Ford Motor recalled certain 2016 to 2018 Lincoln MKX and 2015 to 2018 Ford Edge vehicles as they may have a rear brake hose that can rupture and leak fluid.

The cause of the rupture and leak has yet to be determined, according to the recall report. Drivers may notice a change in the feeling of the brake and see the brake fluid warning indicator light illuminate as a result of the leak.

A remedy for the recall is under development. Letters notifying owners of affected vehicles about the safety risk are expected to be mailed Sept. 8, with a letter notifying owners of a remedy anticipated in April 2026.

Affected vehicles: 499,129

Ford trucks recalled for instrument display panel

Ford recalled certain trucks as they may have an instrument panel cluster that fails when the car starts.

The vehicles included in the recall are:

  • 2025 F-150
  • 2025-2026 F-550 SD
  • 2025-2026 F-450 SD
  • 2025-2026 F-350 SD
  • 2025-2026 F-250 SD

The failure of the panel is caused by a software issue while in sleep mode, according to the recall report. The instrument panel cluster software can be updated by a dealer or over-the-air, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are to be sent Sept. 2.

Dodges, Rams recalled for faulty rearview camera

Stellantis recalled certain 2019 to 2021 Ram ProMaster and 2019 to 2020 Dodge Journey vehicles as they could have a faulty rearview camera.

Cracks in the microprocessor of the camera could cause the vehicle's rearview camera image not to display properly, according to the NHTSA.

Dealers are to replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Letters notifying owners are expected to be sent Sept. 30.

Affected vehicles: 219,577

Ford Explorer, Aviators recalled due to faulty trailer lights

Ford also recalled certain 2025 Explorer and Aviator vehicles, as the tail lights on towed trailers may not illuminate.

The affected vehicles have a body control module that may have improperly soldered components, according to the recall report. Cars covered under the recall that may have the affected module may experience inoperative power window or mirror switches, or the vehicle's air conditioning system blowing warm air.

The report suggests there could also be other operating issues with the vehicle's DC/AC inverter, glove box light, vanity lights, dome lamps, alarm portion of the horn, rear defrost, or the USB charger.

Dealers are to replace the body control module on vehicles with less than 9,000 miles driven. For vehicles with more than 9,000 miles, dealers are to perform a functional check on the body control module and replace it if necessary.

All repairs are to be made free of charge.

Letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed Oct. 13, with a follow-up anticipated when a remedy is implemented.

Affected vehicles: 213,121

Mustangs recalled for faulty lights

Ford recalled certain 2024 to 2025 Mustang vehicles as exterior lights in affected vehicles may not illuminate.

Water may enter the body control module of the affected Mustangs, causing a loss of communication with the exterior lighting, including the license plate light, side marker, and tail lights. The water intrusion may be caused by improperly sealed body seams, according to the recall report.

Dealers are to inspect and seal the body seams as well as inspect the body control module for corrosion and replace it, if necessary. Repairs are to be made free of charge.

Letters notifying owners are to be sent Sept. 1 and followed by a notice that a remedy is available. The remedy is anticipated to be available in the first quarter of 2026.

Affected vehicles: 105,441

Ford recalls Rangers for side airbags that could tear

Ford recalled certain 2024 to 2026 Ranger vehicles as the side curtain airbags in the affected vehicles may tear when deployed.

The airbags may contact the vehicle's B-Pillar inner reinforcements during deployment, causing them to tear. Dealers are to install protective shields for the airbags free of charge.

Owner notification letters are to be sent on Sept. 8, with notices for a final remedy anticipated to be sent in December.

Affected vehicles: 100,900

Corvettes recalled for refueling risk

General Motors recalled certain 2023 to 2026 Chevrolet Corvettes due to a fire risk when refueling.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a left-side radiator/fan combination where excess fuel may spill into the vehicle fuel-filler pocket and leak onto an ignition source, according to the NHTSA.

Dealers will install a shield to divert spilled fuel for free, with owners expected to receive a letter when a final remedy is available. Letters notifying owners of the safety risk are to be sent Oct. 6.
