LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A 12-year-old girl is dead and a baby was seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on I-265, and both their mother and the other driver are facing charges.
According to police, a driver rear-ended a Jeep around 2:30 a.m. Monday on the Gene Snyder Freeway near New Cut Road.
LMPD said the Jeep rolled over through the median into the other lanes. The striking vehicle was found off the road near the wood line, police said.
A 12-year-old girl in the Jeep was ejected and died at the scene, police said.
Police said the driver of the Jeep, identified as Jasmin Simpson, 31, was also ejected and her baby, still in a car seat, was found under the vehicle. Both of them have life-threatening injuries and are at the hospital, LMPD said.
