In 2022 Hawaii lost its first three women’s volleyball matches of the season. That was at a tournament in Texas.
It happened again this weekend, but this time it was at the Bankoh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic.
Oddly enough, the same school that dealt UH its third loss three years ago swept Hawaii again Sunday, as San Diego took down the hosts 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 before a turnstile crowd of 3,704.
The Wahine also lost a reverse sweep to Marquette on opening night Friday, and then a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Utah State on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Wahine had no answer for the San Diego duo of Isabel Clark (14 kills) and Nemo Beach (12). UH also hurt itself with a plethora of self-inflicted wounds.
