SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — One man is behind bars after allegedly firing a gun multiple times at his ex-girlfriend early Sunday morning.

Juan Bernal, 47, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, prohibited weapons conduct, property damage, and felony discharge of a firearm.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, officers with Salt Lake City Police Department responded to reports of a burglary at a home. They arrived to find a vehicle in the driveway with all of its windows destroyed.

Police say the victim, and Bernal's ex-girlfriend, had given him a ride earlier that day. When she went to pick him up, he allegedly opened fire while she was still in her vehicle.
