A FLORIDA State football player has been hospitalized after getting shot.

Freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard is in critical but stable condition at a Tallahassee-area hospital.

According to the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Pritchard was in a car outside of an apartment building when he was shot.

Florida State said that he was visiting family in Havana, Florida at the time.

"Ethan Pritchard is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound last night while visiting family in Havana, Flordia," FSU said in a statement.

"The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals, and asks that their privacy be respected at this time.
