The Prime Minister says he wants to end the use of hotels to house asylum seekers, after another weekend of protests.
Keir Starmer said he understands the anger of local residents, as his government announced a crackdown on refugees bringing family members to the UK.
It comes at the start of a new term at Westminster, as parliament reconvened following the summer break.
Migration is the issue Starmer’s Government has to tackle, due to record numbers of people crossing the English Channel, and Nigel Farage’s Reform Party stretching its lead in the polls.
Protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers have been the political story of the summer. In Falkirk this weekend, the number of protesters, and counter protesters supporting asylum seekers, continued to grow outside one hotel.
