DENVER (KDVR) -- A person was detained after an altercation led to a shooting Monday morning, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office.

During a press conference on Monday morning, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said a "person of interest" was found and was being questioned in relation to the shooting.

Around 7:45 a.m., deputies received a call reporting an "individual down." When they arrived at the scene near E. 62nd Avenue and Broadway, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the lower leg and applied a tourniquet.

The victim was responsive and gave a detailed suspect description and provided a photo of the suspect vehicle, which deputies located after alerts from FLOCK cameras throughout the area.

The sheriff's office did not say where the person was found.
