A few former Yankees were scooped up by contenders across the league right before that deadline.

Left-hander Andrew Heaney, a former trade deadline acquisition for the Yankees, was signed by the Dodgers on Sunday, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post . Heaney was released by the Pirates a few days prior. He’ll report to Triple-A Oklahoma City with Los Angeles, according to Heyman, to get ready to contribute down the stretch if his number is called.

Heaney was acquired by the Yankees in 2021 before the trade deadline from the Angels, the same year the Yankees traded for Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo. He flopped in pinstripes, though,
