Labor Day, marking the achievements of American workers, is a federal holiday. Most government offices are closed Monday, but retailers and restaurants may be open or operating on modified hours.

Costco’s warehouses will be closed, but many major retailers like QFC and Safeway will stay open this Labor Day.

Post offices and federal, county and city government buildings will be closed. UPS and FedEx will be open.

Banks will be closed.

Both King County Metro and Sound Transit will run on a Sunday schedule.

The Vashon Water Taxi and West Seattle Water Taxi will operate on a normal schedule. Street parking in Seattle is free Monday.

King County’s courts and the Superior Court Clerk’s office will be closed.
