Labor Day started in Montgomery with a pair of unrelated shootings early on Sept. 1, a Montgomery Police Department spokesperson said.
At 1:57 a.m., Fire Medics responded to a vehicle accident in the area of West April Street and Bowman Street. They found a juvenile male who had suffered life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
At 3:02 a.m., MPD responded to a local hospital after a report of a person who had a gunshot wound. The adult man's wound was not life-threatening, police said.
MPD has not released the identities of the people who were shot, and they did not give details on the circumstances of the shootings. No suspects have been announced. An MPD spokesperson said the shootings are under investigation.
