A man was shot multiple times and killed while driving through a Harvey neighborhood on Labor Day morning, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

The victim, whose name or age wasn't released, crashed into several unoccupied vehicles after he was shot, the sheriff's office said. The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. Monday on the 1200 block of Aberdeen Drive.

Deputies responded to a report of gunfire and found the man unresponsive inside his vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene. No suspects were identified.

It was the second reported homicide in Jefferson Parish within 24 hours.

A man was shot and killed outside an Avondale business around 12:50 a.m. Monday, JPSO said. Deputies arrested a 25-year-old suspect in that case.
