An MSP accused of hiding a camera in the Scottish Parliament toilets and possessing indecent images has quit as convener of a Holyrood committee.
Colin Smyth chaired the Economy and Fair Work Committee but stood down on Monday evening.
The Committee was due to consider a motion in the name of Michelle Thomson MSP to remove Smyth as Convener before his resignation.
It comes after the creche and education centre at the Scottish Parliament were searched by police.
Police arrested Smyth on August 5, and he was charged in connection with possession of indecent images, including some images of children.
He was then further charged in connection with a secret camera placed in toilets at the Scottish Parliament, STV News understands.
