Hannah Tyrrell has undergone reconstructive knee surgery, just a few weeks after bowing out on an All-Ireland high with the Dublin ladies' footballers.

Tyrrell, a multi-decorated athlete who has also excelled at rugby and soccer, announced her inter-county retirement in the wake of Dublin’s emphatic All-Ireland senior final victory over Meath last month.
