Local strike team update: firefighters return home

Peardale-Chicago Park Fire Department PIO Daniel Ramey shared an update on the local strike team working large incidents throughout the state.

“We would like to welcome our firefighters home from a long deployment. Some of the crew members spent 23 days out, while others swapped out the firefighters returning home after 14 days.”

In the three weeks they were deployed, crews were assigned to the 131,614-acre Gifford Fire , the 624-acre Coyote Fire and the 6,819-acre Pickett Fire .

Agencies involved in the strike team were Peardale Chicago Park Fire, Grass Valley Fire, Higgins Fire, North San Juan Fire and Nevada County Consolidated Fire departments.
