Several hundred people took to the steps of the Capitol in Harrisburg Monday to protest against the influence a few extremely wealthy people have on politics in the United States and the direction of the country.

The crowd bellowed chants of “no kings, no crown, we won’t back down” and held up signs with messages opposing President Donald Trump and wealth inequality, like “impeach, convict remove” and “tax the rich.”

Others held up signs reading “support unions” and “respect workers” in solidarity with the labor movement and Labor Day.

The protest was organized by the Harrisburg chapter of the 50501 Movement, which touts itself as a “grassroots resistance effort against authoritarianism and injustice” nationally.
