RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - September is Hunger Action Month across the country and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is calling on local communities to keeping fighting hunger in America.

Jocelyn Lantrip, director of marketing and communications, stopped by Morning Break to share how hunger is on the rise in our county.

Food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade, reaching over 47 million people facing hunger, including 14 million children. Of the communities Food Bank of Northern Nevada serves, there is a food insecurity range from a low of 11.9% in Storey County to a high of 17.6% in Mineral County.
