A skeletal fish, a life-sized ostrich and three other figures are getting ready for their appearance in Fruita’s downtown.

The five sculptures will be installed Wednesday , Sept 3, and are part of the HeART of Fruita Program, a rotating art gallery that displays the work of Grand Valley artists for one year in downtown Fruita.

Begun in 2023, HeART of Fruita has featured three sculptures annually, but was expanded to five this year because the program’s popularity, according to a news release from the city of Fruita Arts and Culture Board, which coordinates the program.

The five 2025 sculptures were created by three local artists: Pavia Justinian, Jeff Bates and Trevor Hall.

An Art Walk featuring the artists and their sculptures is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 near Circle Park.
