TUCSON, AZ (13 News/AZFamily) — A woman is dead, and another remains in critical condition after hiking a Pima County trail on Saturday afternoon.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says crews responded to the Linda Vista hiking trail in Oro Valley for reports of two injured hikers around 1:45 p.m.

Pima County’s Parks Enforcement/Search and Rescue Team worked with multiple state and fire department agencies and found the two women a short distance apart.

One woman was rescued from the trail and rushed to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The second woman, identified as 53-year-old Lyn Lagergren, was pronounced dead at the scene.
