Newark Liberty International Airport faced more ground stops Monday afternoon. The Federal Aviation Administration briefly issued a ground stop around 2 p.m. that was quickly lifted. Another was issued around 4:30 p.m.

The ground stops come as New York City's three major airports report dozens of delays for the Labor Day travel rush .

As of 4:50 p.m., Newark reported 153 flights had been delayed and two had been canceled. John F. Kennedy International Airport had 104 delays, and LaGuardia Airport had 98.

The FAA said the latest ground stops at Newark were due to staffing issues.
