Faulkner County deputies on Friday arrested a former deputy who resigned from his job at the county jail about two weeks before authorities began investigating claims he'd had a relationship with a woman held in the jail, a Monday news release states.
Robert Doyal, 45, of Conway resigned Aug. 4 from his position as a lieutenant in the jail, and on Aug. 21 sheriff's office investigators began looking into claims that Doyal had been involved in a relationship with an inmate, the news release states.
Authorities arrested Doyal, who faces felony charges including one count of third-degree sexual assault and two of furnishing prohibited articles, the release states. Doyal was held in the Cleburne County jail on Monday, an online inmate roster showed.
